Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Hebrews 12:1
On Sunday my brave and strong husband Craig ran his first race. He finished 3.5km in just under 22 minutes. (This is totally fantastic since he only trained for 3 days before hand). He placed 103 out of 278 runners.
I was a race volunteer. Let me tell you it was so exciting! There were tons of people there. Our church rescheduled Sunday morning service to be at 4pm so the congregation could be out in the community either helping out or running. The energy was electric.
So there are 2 Finer things here:
1. Cheering on my lover boy as he ran hard and crossed the finish line. It was actually very emotional, I had tears in my eyes.
2. Being part of a church that supports such a large event and encourages it's members to be out in the community serving.

Sounds like y'all had a great time! Congratulations to your husband! My brother-in-law also races while my sister does the cheering!
How fun! Love watching races. I feel the energy of those who are coming up to the finish line. Such reward!
That is one fine thing, alright! Congrats to your hubby.
What fun! :D Congratulations to your husband!!
How exciting! I can't run to save my soul, but I'm a great sideline cheerleader. ;-)
Happy Mother's Day!
