Yesterday, for Motivate Me Monday, I wrote about protecting your marriage from outside relationships. One of the people who linked up was Michele from My Live as a Wife, Mother and Christian. She posted an article about planting a hedge around your marriage.
One little tidbit I gleaned from that article was to have new information to talk to your husband about daily. Put in the effort to have interesting conversation topics. Here are some suggestions:
- Read the newspaper and discuss a current event.
- Go on an adventure with your children. (With kids a walk around the block or a trip to the local dump can be an adventure). This way you will hopefully have a story to tell.
- Start a project (hopefully you will finish it as well). You can update your husband on various aspects of your endeavor.

Being a good listener is key. When my husband gets home from work, I let him tell me about his day first because I know sometimes he needs to get things off his chest. AND I try not to bombard him with the "issues" of the day right then and there. LOL!
My husband and I have started having little dates out on the front porch every Saturday night. We put the kids to bed then sneak out and chat for hours about how far we've come and the fun we've had, and it just reminds us of how blessed we are to have each other and keeps the bond tight.
Also I know for my husband, he likes to come home to a tidy house and so I try to have that for him when he comes home. He understand if it's not but I do love to please him like that.
Sorry for the long comment. I get long winded sometimes. LOL
Hugs
