Blessed: The unmerited favor of God. To be happy.
From the research I have done to write this post I have discovered that approximately 70% of lottery winners have squandered their fortune with in a few years. They were not prepared to have such a hugs sum of money (and with that responsibility) placed on them.
God knows us. He knows our nature and He prepares us for His blessings. If there is a huge, life changing, gift in store for us He generally warns us beforehand. A baby takes 9 months to develop in the womb and weddings are generally planned months in advance. There are of course exceptions to this and one may not be warned but God will not plunk a blessing into your lap that you can not handle.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
Our God is so good! He grows us gradually. He provides us with our needs. Even when we have our needs He continues to give us good gifts. His blessings flow.
Flow. That is the word I want you to pay attention to here. God's blessings flow to us. Bit by bit and step by step we grow and can handle more of what he is giving us. We are not handed a relationship with the Lord. We work at it. We develop discipline and then our Father rewards us by filling us up with the Holy Spirit. A gift sent to counsel and comfort us.
God is gentle. He does not force Himself upon us. He waits to be invited into our hearts and lives.
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
He waits for you to ask.
I encourage you to build your relationship with the Lord. Take time to practice spiritual disciplines (prayer, study, meditation, and fasting). Have your eyes opened to the flow of blessings that He has for you.

Beautiful, as always, Sarah. I LOVE Motivate Me Monday ... I get so inspired reading the linked posts ... learning how others find inspiration and encouragement to pursue "the better part" (Luke 10:38-42). Thank you for keeping this beautiful meme going. And for always writing such thought-provoking posts.
What a great post! He does prepare us for the gifts he is giving us and the preparing takes time...which is why I find myself waiting patiently (or trying to wait patiently!) after many of my prayers!
That is just it...needing and wanting to build a relationship with HIM. BEautiful post.
It's very true God does grow us slowly and bit by bit for what He's asking us to face.
Perfect post for me right now!
