God Lessons

1. On Sunday at church a dear sister with a gift for intercession and teaching spoke to the congregation.
She told us, having a relationship with Jesus is simple. Being in His word is a very important part. But get up in the morning and pray.
Say "Jesus, what word do you have for me today?" Then listen. Receive the Word. Thank the Lord for the Word. Then talk to Him like He is your friend. Tell Him your hurts and failures, your joys and victories. Have a serious relationship with Him.

2. On my very first Monday of waking up early to have quiet time with God I was reading my email devotional from Proverbs 31 Ministries.  The topic was being a bold christian.  I clicked the link to Karen Ehman's blog and found a very valuable tip.  Tell people you meet that you are a christian early in your conversation with them.  This doesn't have to be robotic "hello my name is Sarah and I am a christian."  Praise Him for something in your life in front of that other person or people. So they might see Christ's light in you.

That is what I learned this week and I am so very grateful for those lessons.

Like that idea in lesson #2! I want to keep it in mind that I might be bolder in my faith.

That is a great idea of something to be thankful for - being bold about our faith with out being pushy. I will keep this in mind and not be so hesitant about letting others know of my faith.

I love those lessons! I think that letting people know about your faith up front is important. I find that I hang out with Bible study/ church/ sunday school friends so often that when I don't, it throws me for a loop! I had lunch with a girl recently who didn't know Jesus and it was obvious after I said some "churchy" things. My heart ached for her and I felt like our conversation just dropped then and there! I am praying for her and hope to be some sort of inspiration. If she can get past this craziness!! :)

Great post, Sarah. I'm getting into a routine of getting up early to have my bible reading done before anything else. The day just goes better.

I have been making the effort to start the day in prayer too. I can really tell the difference in my attitude when I don't. Thanks for the words of encouragement!
