Motivate Me Monday- No New Stuff inJuly Challenge

Composing Hallelujahs

Well it has been almost a week since I started my No New Stuff in July challenge. I have been quite successful. I did buy some chalkboard paint which may or may not be used to make a gift for someone. It's a bit in the gray area of the rules.

I have gotten rid of 2 large bags of clothing (one kids and 1 adults).
I have been letting the fact that I have no cardboard boxes hold be back in getting rid of more stuff. Well here I am bending over, someone please kick me in the butt and send me on my way to get boxes!!!

Some of the extra benefits of this challenge are:
1. I have been striving to improve my eating habits. More fruit and veggies here at the palace.
2. I get to decline things I really don't want (but in the past may have taken anyway to avoid hurt feelings) with a totally legit excuse.

I have been thinking about what kind of a home I really want to have. Here is the list I came up with.

I want my home to be:
1. Tidy and organized. *Not overboard, but it would be nice for things to be in their place*
2. Peaceful. *It's difficult to have peace when you are worried that someone is going to step on the things cluttering the floor and ruin them.*
3. Hospitable. *What an embarrassment to have people over when you can't find your couch for them to sit on*
4. Relaxed. (Clutter causes stress!)
5. Romantic. *The "mood" disappears real fast when I am reminded of the mountain of laundry on my bed*
6. Free. *I really desire to be free from the stuff that is weighing our family down*

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Philippians 1:6

Through lots of prayer and God's strength I am developing good habits in keeping my home. I am striving to take my job as Craig's wife and Hudson and Meadow's mom very seriously.

I want to encourage you in your endeaver. I am working on getting rid of the clutter in my home as well. I have lots of things to put in a yard sale or give away. I know it will be a blessing to get things more organized around here. Not that they are bad, but there is always room for improvement. :-)

What a great challenge. I try to live by the "one in, one out" rule ... but it's hard. Loved the list of what you want your home to be ... so true for me too! Especially "romantic" ... think I'm gonna go put away that laundry on my bed right now! ;) (And thanks for stopping by my blog today!!)
